My 15 minutes
Its odd,
its Odd, sitting down town and having people recognize you from a newspaper article and approach you in conversation.
its Odd, going to you community college studio and seeing you News Paper article on the Wall and being treated like a favored son returning home.
its Odd, having a school which you feel no connection with ask for a donation of a piece of Art.
its Odd, name dropping that you have Art work in the Smithsonian with out even thinking about it to a gallery owner in Carmel and have them as for you website and business card which you have not created yet.
Its Great
its Great having you friends, family and mentors to keep you grounded.
its Great being able to be less of a "Minor" celebrity at the college you currently attend
its Great being able to name drop to someone of "importance" to get you that foot in the door.
its Great learning that fame is an could be in the future fleeting
its Weird
its Weird now being label as an particualar type of Artist, "disabled" or, an Artist with a disAbility instead of just an "Artist". Artist, even that was title I used to never self apply, or want applied.
its Weird knowing people are now buy the same Art work I had on the same walls now because I might be "famous" or even worse already am.
its Weird knowing the possibility of me making a living primarily through Art, or even off of my Art, has now been perceived by myself and other to have increased.
its Weird knowing that in less than nine months I will be out of the college "Incubator" and into the Hard, Real, Cold, world.
